Eurostampa – Precision Anilox Cleaning
Eurostampa is a family-owned international business specialising in premium labels for wine, spirits, food, and cosmetics. With more than 16 billion labels produced annually, consistent print quality is vital.
While Eurostampa already relied on Metalwash technology to clean press components, anilox roller cleaning remained a challenge. Manual and conventional methods were labour-intensive, operator-dependent, and often failed to restore the full cell volume. This created risks of colour variation, defects, and costly downtime. With as many as 80 wash-ups per day, the company required a robust cleaning process that could deliver accuracy and repeatability and reduce downtime re-cleaning requirements.
The Solution
Metalwash supplied and integrated a dedicated anilox roller cleaner alongside Eurostampa’s existing systems, creating a solvent-free washroom. Combining high-pressure pre-wash with a sonic bath process, the solution provided a highly effective and safer method of cleaning, while reducing reliance on operator input.
The new system consistently delivered results within a +/-5% tolerance, something that had not been achievable with previous spray methods. Importantly, it also reduced manual handling, aligned with environmental commitments, and was easy to service within Eurostampa’s busy production schedule.
